My name is Morgan, and I’ve been working with my hands as long as I can remember. I grew up with a mother who sewed everything from Halloween costumes to first day of school outfits and prom dresses, and three Great Aunts who welcomed me into their home every day after school to knit and quilt. My Aunt Nell has been the greatest creative influence in my life and inspiration for my shop name.
I’m a Mama to two littles, a wife to a mustached gent, and we all live in a happy little A-Frame in the Adirondacks. After having my children and dedicating myself to becoming a stay-at-home mother, I sought to restore my inner creative self. Quilted pouches seemed like the perfect place to start, and I made a few for friends as gifts. What started as a hobby quickly grew into a business, and I’m excited to see where this adventure takes me.
My bags are inspired by all things natural and beautiful, and are made with a nod to the past. Pairing colors, patterns, and textures brings me great joy, and it’s my hope that each Knitting Nellie bag has a story to tell in those tiny patches.
